Monday through Friday, forty hours per week, flexible as needed.

The Cell Biologist II will support preliminary active compound discovery and testing. They will also support assay development which is a key role to identify active compounds: screening compounds from “weak active compound” to a “potent and effective compound” using a variety of methods.

• Maintain mammalian cell culture lines, clone selections, transfections
• Create cell line banks.
• Prepare media and other cell culture reagents.
• Perform strong aseptic techniques; exposure to operating and programming laboratory automation and liquid handling
• Update and maintain biological inventories.
• Perform experiment documentation (ELNs).
• Perform bioassays, biochemical assays, PBMC isolation
• Data analysis, presentation of data
• Assist in troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
• Interact professionally with internal and external clients
• Maintain a high-level knowledge of various laboratory operations
• Receive tasks and information from the scientist in charge regarding changes in processes, priorities, workflow, safety requirements, or other information
• Meet regularly with the scientist in charge to discuss progress, upcoming work changes, and new items
• Communicate effectively with internal and external contacts
• Remain flexible to ever‑changing needs in a positive and professional manner
• Follow the guidelines set by clients and Company Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures
• Comply with clients and company management systems in accordance with regulatory agencies
• Follow guidelines in the Company Quality Manual and Safety / Chemical Hygiene Plan
• Adhere to the Company Quality System requirements
• Other duties as defined by manager, department needs, and workload

• Mammalian cell culture experience
• Biochemical and cell‑based assays
• Strong interpersonal skills – written and oral communication, relationship building, approachability, initiative, adaptability, and positive attitude
• Excellent foundation in technical problem solving to assist in troubleshooting, sample management, shipping, ordering, equipment or logistical issues
• Written and verbal communication skills for group settings with colleagues and clients
• Organizational and time‑management skills
• Ability to perform multiple tasks
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet or exceed deadlines

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or another related field.
• 1+ years working in a research laboratory.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of above.

$25.00 – $28.00 per hour (actual compensation may vary by location, education, experience, and skill set).
