Utility Locate Technician

Overview

Utility Locate Technician at Grid Hawk LLC – locate and document underground facilities to help ensure compliance with client and state requirements. Technicians may work independently or in a team under a supervisor. They perform locating, marking, and recording of underground and exposed utility locations, using multiple methods as required.

• Locate underground facilities by using transmitters and other appropriate equipment.
• Inspect and mark utility locations in construction zones, residential, commercial, industrial, and rural areas in all weather conditions.
• Interpret job orders, blueprints, and maps to efficiently route and perform duties.
• Perform locates and emergency/on-call locates as needed to meet customer needs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, supervisors, contractors, and utility representatives to maintain a damage-free environment.
• Use appropriate technology and tools; work individually or as part of a supervised team.

• High School Diploma or GED
• State-issued driver’s license
• Ability to problem solve and read/interpret prints
• Vacuum truck experience (preferred)
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
• Excellent communication skills
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years)
• Pass a DOT drug test
• Driver’s license required

• Full-time position
• Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour

• Schedule:
  
  10-hour shifts;
  Monday to Friday; on-call; weekends as needed
