Audio Visual Technician

Installation Technician installs, programs, troubleshoots, and maintains audio‑visual systems (projectors, sound systems, video conferencing, control systems) in businesses, requiring skills in wiring, reading blueprints, working with IT/networking, and client communication to ensure seamless operation for presentations, events, and digital signage. Key duties include physical setup (racks, rigging), system configuration (programming), technical support, documentation, and ensuring safety compliance.

• Installation: Mount displays, run cable, assemble equipment racks, and integrate components (speakers, mics, screens, lighting).
• Configuration & Programming: Set up and program control systems (like Crestron/Extron), DSPs, video processors, and network settings.
• Testing & Commissioning: Test all systems, resolve issues, and ensure smooth signal flow from source to display.
• Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot faults, perform routine cleaning, and manage repairs or upgrades.
• Client Interaction: Consult with clients, explain system use, and provide training.
• Documentation: Create and maintain wiring diagrams, system layouts, and service records.

• Technical: Proficiency with AV hardware, signal flow, IT/Networking basics, software control systems, and reading schematics.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work safely.
• Physical: Ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and work in varied environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
