Installation Technician, Field/Service Technician
Installation Technician installs, programs, troubleshoots, and maintains audio‑visual systems (projectors, sound systems, video conferencing, control systems) in businesses, requiring skills in wiring, reading blueprints, working with IT/networking, and client communication to ensure seamless operation for presentations, events, and digital signage. Key duties include physical setup (racks, rigging), system configuration (programming), technical support, documentation, and ensuring safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Installation: Mount displays, run cable, assemble equipment racks, and integrate components (speakers, mics, screens, lighting).
- Configuration & Programming: Set up and program control systems (like Crestron/Extron), DSPs, video processors, and network settings.
- Testing & Commissioning: Test all systems, resolve issues, and ensure smooth signal flow from source to display.
- Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot faults, perform routine cleaning, and manage repairs or upgrades.
- Client Interaction: Consult with clients, explain system use, and provide training.
- Documentation: Create and maintain wiring diagrams, system layouts, and service records.
- Technical: Proficiency with AV hardware, signal flow, IT/Networking basics, software control systems, and reading schematics.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem‑solving, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and ability to work safely.
- Physical: Ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and work in varied environments.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 – $28.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
