Job Description

The Lead Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted operation of company facilities, machinery, and equipment. This position involves overseeing a team of 3-5 technicians, planning and implementing new projects, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the daily work of maintenance technicians.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Manager to maintain parts inventory and backstock.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and plant systems.
  • Inspect, evaluate, repair, and service equipment such as engines, motors, pumps, valves, control systems, and more.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
  • Clean, service, and maintain equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged equipment and parts.
  • Use welding and plasma cutting equipment for equipment repair and modification.
  • Handle plumbing repair and installation for plant systems.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems for proper climate control.
  • Work with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems for equipment installation and troubleshooting.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated systems.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment problems and recommend repairs.
  • Perform and oversee confined space entry and Lockout Tag-out work.
  • Provide input on staff performance evaluations and discipline.
  • Observe safety procedures and work to applicable codes and guidelines.
  • Lead training and safety sessions and provide technical assistance to staff.
  • Develop, review, and archive maintenance and repair operating procedures.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial equipment troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership and team development.
  • 3+ years of experience in welding and fabrication using MIG/TIG/Stick.
  • 2+ years of experience in VFD installation and programming.
  • 3+ years of experience with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.
  • Experience in welding and metal fabrication.
  • Basic plumbing skills for industrial applications.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, air compressors, and water treatment systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment

Work across three plant facilities: two are not climate controlled, and one is kept at 55 degrees. Production areas are noisy, and non‑production areas are quiet. The role involves hands‑on work, occasional confined space entry, and working el‑toed boots and industrial work attire are required. The standard schedule is 7 am‑3:30 pm Monday‑Friday, with flexibility based on workload. Supervise a team of 3 technicians in a collaborative, drama‑free environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70,720.00 - $70,720.00/yr.
