Job Description & How to Apply Below
Job Summary Goodwill’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) program is a community service and work-based job training program for older adults. The SCSEP Coach addresses the fragmented structure of the social services industry by taking a holistic, whole-family approach. This approach is foundational to Goodwill’s existing wrap-around services provided to employees and their families. The SCSEP Coach provides alternative life strategies by preparing for success through employment, financial management, future planning, and education.
At Goodwill, we help seniors find work, develop new skills and talents, and build their financial security by taking advantage of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). The SCSEP Coach coordinates and assists the recruiting, intake, assessment, orientation, advising, enrollment procedures, and follow-up for program participants who are in need of services. Efforts are tracked to employment and financial outcomes.
The Coach networks with outside resources to promote Goodwill’s programs and services. The Coach manages community outreach and builds and maintains relationships with all stakeholders. The SCSEP Coach works with minimal supervision and relies on self-direction to complete goals as established by the organization.
Example Duties and Activities Assists program participants in improving work behaviors and skills acquisition to enhance their success with employment. Conducts one-on-one follow-ups with employees to continually monitor their efforts and measure progress. Makes recommendations to provide guidance and counseling.
Assesses participants to conclude the nature and degree of assistance and refers them to appropriate services. Executes recruitment plans for participants and host agencies. Conducts regular employment progress reports.
Organizes and presents job readiness preparation either one-on-one or in small groups. Stays abreast of current labor market data to provide participants with information on employment opportunities.
Builds and maintains networks with key community partners, including Goodwill staff (community agencies, educational institutions, financial liaisons, and employers) to enhance the menu of wrap-around services provided to participants. Participates in professional organizations that allow Goodwill to identify business development opportunities. Serves as the primary point of contact with community partner organizations to receive and manage those opportunities.
Works closely with other staff members to assess co-enrollment eligibility.
Creates, manages, and reviews participant case management files. Generates status reports and makes adjustments as needed. Tracks, documents, and communicates program-specific metrics, including the accomplishment of numerical enrollment goals, participant enrollment dates, and participant achievement, utilizing multiple reporting systems.
Secures supplementary information such as employment, criminal history, medical records, psychological records, agency referrals, eligibility documentation, or school reports. Enters client demographics into the client tracking system and reviews timesheets for completeness and appropriate signatures. Collects and maintains required forms and documentation per contract and funding source guidelines.
