Position Overview
As an Embedded Software Engineer at Glassboard, you will be responsible for firmware and embedded software (RTOS, Linux, Android) on custom electronics. You will own firmware development from architecture to validation, reporting to the CTO and collaborating with hardware and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and debug real-time firmware in C
- Specify, design, and implement embedded subsystem functionalities
- Drive firmware performance, scalability, robustness, and hardware integration
- Create technical specifications from customer requirements
- Participate in prototype bring-up, debugging, and verification
Education & Experience
- Minimum 1 year of product development or R&D experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in EE/CE/EET/CET or equivalent
- Experience in consumer, automotive, industrial, or medical product development is a plus
Required Qualifications
- Experience with embedded hardware using Linux, RTOS, or bare metal
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (USB, CAN, UART, SPI, I2C)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Git or SVN
- Familiarity with debuggers like Segger J-Link
- Understanding of schematics and electronic components
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in product development or R&D
- Experience with Embedded Linux build systems (Yocto, Buildroot)
- Experience with Android AOSP and build systems
- Knowledge of Java script, Python, C++ is a plus
- Familiarity with IDEs like Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, Kiel, IAR
- Understanding of power electronics and battery management systems
- RF testing and certification experience (FCC, CE, UL, IEC)
- Experience with wireless protocols (Bluetooth, Zigbee, LTE, LoRa, Wi-Fi)
