Position OverviewBenton Central Jr.
-Sr. High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head Football Coach to lead our football program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes, promote sportsmanship and integrity, and uphold the mission and values of Benton Central Athletics.
- Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the high school football program.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive off-season and in-season training program.
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches within the football staff.
- Foster positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, faculty, and the community.
- Teach and emphasize discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic success.
- Coordinate the use and care of football facilities and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all IHSAA, school, and conference rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with lower-level coaches (junior high and youth programs) to create continuity and alignment within the program.
- Monitor player eligibility, academic progress, and personal conduct.
- Represent Benton Central Athletics in a positive and professional manner at all times.
- Indiana Teaching License.
- Previous successful head coaching or coordinator experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of current coaching techniques, trends, and safety protocols.
- Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes both on and off the field.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture.
- Valid Indiana teaching license or ability to meet IHSAA coaching certification requirements.
- Completion of NFHS and IHSAA-mandated coaching courses (Concussion, Heat Illness, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention, Protecting Students Against Abuse, and Football Tackling).
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.
- Clear extended background check per Benton Central School Corporation policy.
