Position Summary
The Sr Logistics Specialist will be responsible for facilitating traffic coordination required by Expedites in a cost‑efficient manner. This role ensures compliance with company policies and procedures along with all regulatory guidelines and requirements to ensure accurate and effective processing of the daily operations required for Expedites.
Key Responsibilities- Track, input data, and report key performance measures assigned by Operations leadership.
- Understand company objectives and protect the company’s business interests.
- Track and trace shipments throughout the life cycle; resolve any issues or concerns with a shipment.
- Proactively communicate with customers on the status of their shipments.
- Use the TMS (transportation software) daily; ensure all information in TMS is timely and accurate.
- Know charter, hand‑carry, and ground expend flows.
- Bid and dispatch shipments and occasionally train team members on handling shipments from pickup, bookings, documentation, and tracing to final destination.
- Understand brokerage services (customs).
- Follow company’s procedures and best practices for e‑mail management and other mediums such as Microsoft Teams under shared team guidelines.
- Identify and report improvement initiatives to enhance performance of the position, team, and company.
- Use problem‑solving and customer‑service skills to resolve issues or concerns with shipments.
- Provide exceptional and timely customer service by proactively informing clients of shipment status; maintain clear verbal and written communication with clients.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, and internal personnel.
- Attend team meetings to review weekly performances, concerns, and improvements.
- Attend cross‑functional trainings with other team members to support PTO coverage.
- High school diploma required.
- Strong knowledge of the transportation industry, including charter, hand‑carry, and ground expend flows.
- Knowledge of brokerage services.
- Knowledge of specialized transportation software.
- Honesty and integrity in all business matters.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written), problem‑solving, decision‑making, and analytical skills.
- Negotiation skills, sense of urgency, and ability to work under pressure.
- Must have the ability to work and excel in a fast‑paced team environment.
- This position requires the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
