Schedule: Fully in-office with significant flexibility for personal and family commitments
Salary: $120,000–$140,000

About the Opportunity

A growing real estate and construction investment company in Indianapolis is looking for a hands-on Controller to help strengthen its accounting operations and support the business through a period of change. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, taking ownership, and working closely with executive leadership to help shape the company's financial future.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader who is comfortable getting into the details while also helping build a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

What You'll Do

- Oversee month-end close, financial statements, and corporate accounting activities
- Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing while coordinating with subcontractors
- Review and oversee the work of a Property Accountant
- Handle corporate accounting responsibilities, including bills, payroll allocations, health insurance, banking relationships, and check processing

Over time, you'll take on greater responsibility for budgeting, financial strategy, cash flow management, and long-term debt planning

What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of accounting experience
- Previous management or accounting leadership experience
- Background in construction, real estate, or property management

- Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and AIA billing
- Proficiency with Quick Books
- Strong understanding of financial statements and month-end close
- A hands-on problem solver who can adapt to change and improve existing processes
- Someone who is comfortable speaking up, sharing their perspective, and respectfully challenging leadership when needed
- Ability to manage deadlines and maintain accountability, even when others fall behind
