Position: Events Child Care Caregiver (Part Time)

SUMMARY / PURPOSE

A Caregiver serves in the nursery or preschool during ministry events at College Park Church. He/she is responsible for the safety and well‑being of the children in his/her care. The caregiver’s interaction with the children should be a reflection of Christ and His love for them. Events Child Care Caregivers serve as part of the Children’s Ministries team which strives to ignite a passion to follow Jesus in the lives of children and families.

ESSENTIAL

JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Engage with the children physically and emotionally by playing, reading, and talking with them
  • Assist with caregiving tasks, such as diaper changes, bathroom, meals, snacks
  • Collaborate with other caregivers to soothe children with separation anxiety
  • Assist the classroom teacher during Bible lessons, crafts, and prayer
  • Provide close supervision at playgrounds, making safety the priority
  • Assist with classroom clean‑up following each event
COMPETENCIES & EXPECTATIONS
  • Is passionate about ministering to children and seeing children grow in the faith
  • Is a member, or willing to become a member, of College Park Church within 6 months of hire date
  • Passionate about the mission and Core Value of College Park Church
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidence by action, attitude, behavior, and regular church attendance
  • Ability to use appropriate judgment, discretion, sensitivity, and confidentiality
  • Reliable, trustworthy, excellent at following through with commitments
  • Ability to adapt to growth and change within the ministry
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain healthy relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and parents
  • Ability to follow the lead of the Child Care Coordinator, Supervisor, and Teacher
  • Takes initiative with caregiving tasks
  • Previous child care experience
  • Flexibility with work hours and ability to adapt with short notice
