• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Supplement and alter lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials as appropriate; maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
• Interact with students and colleagues in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
• Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
• Promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by students and employees, ensuring everyone feels respected and valued.

• Teach assigned courses as scheduled; design curriculum that fosters talent and models inclusive teaching strategies, with attention to socio-cultural issues of traditionally underrepresented groups.
• Consider individual differences of students to design and support a range of appropriate learning activities.
• Identify students with academic or other needs and respond with appropriate resources.
• Use technology aligned with course objectives and clearly communicate expectations for its use.
• Keep accurate records in accordance with departmental policies; maintain attendance and submit grades timely; provide progress feedback to students.
• Distribute and maintain syllabi that incorporate department, college, cross-college, and instructor requirements.
• Conduct classes punctually and assess students using appropriate techniques to measure achievement of course goals.
• Participate in periodic meetings with the department, Lead Instructor, and Chairperson related to teaching duties and professional development.

• Create a positive classroom atmosphere encouraging active and collaborative learning, student effort, and learner support.
• Use technology to assist in communication with students and foster a sense of community inside and outside the classroom.
• Advise potential or current students about program, career, or transfer options to aid degree completion.
• Refer students to appropriate student and academic support services available at the College or in the community.

• Help ensure the College meets responsibilities in identifying opportunities and addressing systemic concerns while reporting discrimination complaints.
• Promote a welcoming, equitable, and productive work and learning environment for all.
• Promote accessible curriculum design and teaching strategies that support an equitable learning environment.
• Foster a safe environment of respect for all faculty, staff, students, and community members.

• Master's degree in Engineering; or master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Electrical Engineering
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Passion for teaching in engineering

• Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
• Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
• Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction
