In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To- Provide sustaining engineering support for Beckman Coulter Life Science products produced at the Indianapolis Site (Particle Characterization, Centrifuge, and Liquid Handling Automation).
- Lead and support design change activities to document and implement changes in compliance with design control procedures, resolving product design issues impacting external customer quality, operational metrics (delivery, yield, cost), and regulatory/feature change drivers.
- Perform electrical and mechanical design as needed, from conception to release to production, targeted to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 9+ years of product development and product engineering support experience, or Master’s Degree with 7+ years.
- Experience with instrumentation design and integration including complex electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, thermal systems, and/or optical systems.
- Proficiency in Solid Works (Surface Modeling, Motion, and simulation), tolerance analysis, and GD&T.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and improve mechanical and electromechanical systems using formal problem-solving methods (analytical and statistical).
If applicable for the role: ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lb.
Preferred Experience- Experience with design changes in a structured design control/change environment for medical devices.
