Res Med is expanding its American manufacturing operations, opening a new facility in Indianapolis in 2027. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will lead the design, setup, and ongoing operations of the facility, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. This role requires deep expertise in greenfield/brownfield setup, automation technologies, and advanced building systems while fostering a high-performance facilities team.

This leader will oversee the planning, construction, maintenance, and optimization of the facility’s infrastructure and equipment. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and compliance while driving innovation in facility operations. The role requires a strategic mindset with hands‑on technical knowledge and a collaborative, service‑oriented approach.

Let’s Talk About Responsibilities
  • Lead the setup of a brownfield project, ensuring scalability and compliance.
  • Oversee and direct personnel and contractors in Material Handling Equipment (MHE) installation/repair and all building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security, pest control, janitorial, etc.).
  • Manage Building Management Systems (BMS), electrical panels, and critical power infrastructure.
  • Ensure optimal performance of automation technologies, including high density goods to person system, PLC/SCADA systems, and other warehouse control/management systems.
  • Build, coach, and lead a high-performing facilities and maintenance team.
  • Establish a robust preventive maintenance program with clear KPIs, scheduling, and spare parts inventory management.
  • Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring expenses align with operational and capital budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, compliance, energy efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Plan and manage facilities modifications, including cost estimation, bids, layouts, and contracts.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Act as change leader, ensuring minimal disruption during upgrades, or automation integrations.
  • Provide timely reporting to management on maintenance compliance, productivity, safety, cost, and quality.
  • Be on‑call 24/7 to respond to critical facility or equipment issues.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and automation systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Ability to interpret control panel electrical schematics/wiring diagram.
  • Proven ability to set up and optimize facilities from scratch (brownfield / greenfield projects).
  • Expertise in operations and maintenance of high density goods to person system.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of BMS, electrical maintenance of panels, Robot/Cobot, Conveyor lines (MDR, NBC, NBS), Image based scanners, IO Link, Box erector system and PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication abilities.
  • Competence in problem solving, decision‑making, and vendor negotiations.
Qualifications and Experience Minimum
  • 8+ years of experience in Facilities or Maintenance Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Preferred
  • Technical certifications in facilities, automation, or electrical systems.
  • Experience with warehouse automation systems (Goods to person, WMS, WCS, PLC/SCADA).
  • Prior experience in distribution, fulfillment, or large‑scale automated facilities.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, sustainability, and advanced BMS technologies.
