We are seeking a motivated Security System Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and implementation of secure, resilient cyber-physical systems. This role provides a unique opportunity to work alongside core systems security and Liberty Works teams to meet customer requirements and industry standards in system security and resiliency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with core systems security teams and Liberty Works to determine technology and processes required for system security and resiliency.
  • Learn and apply Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) principles throughout the product lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, production, operations, and support.
  • Work closely with government agencies, customers, suppliers, and industry experts to understand and meet system requirements.
  • Create and maintain digital models using tools such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support program objectives.
  • Develop, update, and implement systems security and resilience best practices, policies, and procedures across the business.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with at least 1 year of relevant experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in STEM with no prior experience, OR
  • PhD in STEM with no prior experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active security clearance preferred.
  • Engineering degree preferred (Computer Science considered).
  • 3+ years experience in Aerospace Defense or Embedded Systems preferred.
  • Familiarity or interest in Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE), Risk Management Framework (RMF), and cybersecurity principles.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity topics such as secure product design, intrusion detection, digital forensics, system recovery, risk assessments, and related security policies and standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-160, DO-326, DoDI 5000.8).
  • Strong systems thinking, communication, time management, and collaboration skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies and project needs.
