General Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance department and is responsible for maintaining the underlying business transaction details that reflect and document the financial activities of the organization. This is a challenging, highly visible role that requires problem solving and the ability to work cross functionally and with external parties.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
* Perform monthly close activities, such as prepare journal entries, roll-forwards, and reconciliations of GL accounts and maintain accurate supporting documentation
* Maintain high-volume inventory stock ledger, and underlying costing information
* Ensure integrity of intercompany records by maintaining ledger and reconciliations
* Help prepare monthly & annual financial statements for executive level reporting package Prepare statutory reporting for international entities
* Assist and support annual financial statement audit as well as statutory audits to ensure compliance
* Analyze financial statements and perform variance analysis at consolidated level and individual business units Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned by finance director
Additional Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Support on the identification, project planning, and implementation of process improvements relating to month end tasks and reporting within accounting/ERP system
* Work with cross functional teams and various departments to ensure proper accounting treatment Develop and document accounting processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Job Required Knowledge & Skills
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 2+ years of experience in an accounting, finance, audit, or tax function; CPA is a plus but not required
* Advanced knowledge of Excel; prior experience with financial reporting systems a plus (Preferred: D365)
* Thorough understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
* Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus
* Strong problem solving, analytical, and accounting skills
* Highly detail-oriented and organized
