Role Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacist is responsible for the full practice of pharmacy in accordance with applicable regulatory statutes and accreditation standards; interpreting prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering, and distribution of drugs and devices; accepting full responsibility as Pharmacy Manager of the site as defined in the Indiana Board of Pharmacy statutes, and other requirements as defined by DEA, AAAHC, 340B, and other accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with providers on medication management
- Ensure QREs are properly reported
- Interpret, fill, and verify prescriptions
- Counsel patients on medication usage
- Monitor drug therapy in conformance with the OBRA Act
- Perform medication review and recommend alternative therapies as appropriate
- Manage medications received, drug storage, inventory control, pricing, and record maintenance
- Properly handle expired and returned medications
- Supervise staff and workflow processes
- Prepare employee evaluations and coaching sessions
- Facilitate professional development of staff
- Update knowledge of all new and existing policies and procedures
- Assist in training and orientation of new employees
- Review and approve travel expense reports
- Ensure legal and reporting requirements are met
- Submit reports and logs to Director of Pharmacy
- Treat patients, staff, and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Participate actively in quality improvement activities
- Follow safety and OSHA requirements
- Participate in cross-training activities
- Maintain physical appearance of the pharmacy, cleanliness, and sanitation
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
- Minimum of two years’ experience in pharmacy, supervisory experience preferred
- Current and valid Indiana Pharmacist license
- Certification in immunizations
- Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements
- Must meet and maintain background screening requirements
- Valid Indiana driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if required)
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical
Essential Job Functions and Physical Requirements
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods, occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; lift, carry, push, or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35 lbs); operate office equipment; and travel to other locations.
