Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring Cerner experience and a strong background in urology.

Job Details

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit specializing in patients with urologic, plastic surgery, orthopedic oncology, and surgical oncology diagnoses,

• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30),

• Travelers may be required to float between Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU units at both University and Methodist hospitals, with resources provided,

• Unit utilizes Cerner for charting and EMR documentation,

• Special procedures include continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) and hand irrigations,

Job Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration,

• Current BCLS certification from AHA or RQI,

• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,

• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required,

• Strong urology skillset and IV start competency required,

• Demonstrated proficiency in Cerner charting,

• Returning employees or PRNs must have a 12-month break before reapplying as a traveler,

• Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignment,

• RTO requests of up to 5 days can be auto-approved,
