Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position with strong cardiac and trauma experience required.

Job Details

• Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital,

• Care for post cardiac and post vascular surgery patients,

• Staffing ratios range from 1:3-5 depending on acuity,

• Night shift schedule (three 12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required and possible consecutive weekends based on need,

• Floating may be required to Med-Surg, PCU, or ICU at two hospital locations,

• EMR used is Cerner and experience is required,

• Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed after training,

Job Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license in hand by start date,

• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications accepted by AHA or RQI,

• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of experience in a similar setting,

• Previous Level I or II trauma experience required,

• Telemetry experience and competency with IV start and cardiac drip titration required,

• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program,

• COVID vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided,

• Local candidates are not accepted for PCU positions,

Additional Information

• Duties include managing complex post-op cardiac and vascular patients and titrating cardiac drips,

• All travelers must float within the hospital and to affiliated nearby hospitals as needed,

• Must be able to work at least two out of three major holidays during the contract,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) can be auto-approved,

• Former perm or PRN staff must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before consideration,

• Charge coverage or additional unit responsibilities may be assigned as needed,
