** At Lilly, we unite caring with discovery to make life better for people around the world. We are a global healthcare leader headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Our 39,000 employees around the world work to discover and bring life-changing medicines to those who need them, improve the understanding and management of disease, and give back to our communities through philanthropy and volunteerism.
We give our best effort to our work, and we put people first. We're looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.
The Isotopic Chemistry within our organization is responsible for support of ADME related activities by providing radio labeled drug candidates for mass balance, metabolism, PK and transporter studies both in animals and in humans. The radio labeled compounds are also required in early discovery for receptor binding/occupancy studies. Compounds labeled with stable isotopes are used as internal standards in the bioanalytical support of number drug development activities.
The synthesis of putative metabolites is also in the scope of the Isotopic Chemistry.
We are looking for highly motivated, creative synthetic organic chemist with deep expertise, good communication skills, ability to work within wide variety of cross-functional teams, including metabolism scientists, ADME project leaders, clinical pharmacology scientists, biologists and chemists from drug discovery and CMC areas.
Your work will include development of new synthetic pathways for introduction of isotopic labels into molecules of drug candidates and tool compounds. You will provide scientific oversight and management of synthetic and radio-synthetic contract labs.
This role will require engaging in experimental design and data interpretation to deliver the discovery and development portfolio of investigational targets and novel therapeutics. We are passionate about making an impact in the lives of our patients. Consider joining our efforts!

* + Provide scientific oversight of synthetic projects and outsourced activities related to the preparation of isotopically labeled compounds and metabolites to ensure on-time delivery and high quality of compounds to support Lilly portfolio.
+ Collaborate with Lilly's chemists and design synthetic routes for introduction of radiolabels and stable isotope labels in the molecules of drug candidates.
+ Work closely with ADME scientists on selecting metabolically stable position for radiolabeling.
+ Interact with bioanalytical teams to outline synthetic target for compounds labeled with stable isotopes.
+ Develop new synthetic methods for the preparation of putative metabolites.
+ Partner with external CRO resources to implement design ideas of Isotopic synthesis.
+ Work within clinical pharmacology and CMC teams to ensure delivery of radio labeled compounds for human clinical trials.
+ Prepare appropriate sections of IND for regulatory submission.
