Position: Strategic Sourcing Partner I
Job Description:

The Category Manager is an individual contributor responsible for executing sourcing strategies and managing technology sourcing software renewals and projects within the technology stack. This role involves negotiating, administering, and managing a full range of commercial contracts, focusing on Software, SaaS, and generative AI needs. The Category Manager will also maintain relationships between strategic software suppliers and key business stakeholders through daily interactions, aiming for cost-effective procurement decisions.

This position is located in San Francisco, CA, Indianapolis, IN, Bellevue, WA, or remotely within the US, reporting to the Director of Software on the Technology Sourcing Team.

Performance Objectives:
  • Implement software-related supplier-sourcing strategies to ensure high quality, timely delivery, and cost competitiveness.
  • Possess a strong understanding of business contract law and experience negotiating software licensing agreements, including SaaS, conventional, and public cloud marketplace contracts.
  • Demonstrate results in implementing procurement best practices, building strong relationships with internal customers and suppliers, and advising on procurement strategies for cross-functional teams.
  • Utilize analytical skills to report on spend and usage trends, supplier performance, savings, and improvement opportunities.
  • Use RFI, RFP, and RFQ techniques to identify, select, and engage suppliers, ensuring a competitive market advantage.
  • Implement proactive procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and systems, including supplier onboarding, purchase order management, and project management.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions, particularly in integrating software categories during M&A activities.
  • Influence cross-functional teams and strengthen internal relationships to meet business requirements and cost objectives.
  • Have experience with generative AI technology, understanding how GenAI is sold, procured, and managed.
