The Construction Project Manager II will plan, track, and evaluate complex capital projects within the Medxcel Planning, Design, & Construction organization, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the project plans and drive the plans to execution.
  • Explain implications of changes to project scope or objectives to the client and the project team.
  • Lead the team to prioritize signed‑off project work based on strategic importance, tasks, obstacles, budgets, resources, and deadlines.
  • Create, or participate in the creation of, project documentation.
  • Manage client stakeholders, team members, or contract personnel to design a solution and establish associated project timelines and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain a usable and well‑communicated schedule for all project phases.
  • Determine project roles based on requirements, time frames and budget.
  • Collaborate with external and internal resources to achieve project goals.
  • Define required skill sets based on project specifications and requirements.
  • Determine resource requirements (staffing, software, hardware, facilities) for projects.
  • Manage all aspects of the construction process including budget development, the bid process, project acceptance, quality of work, warranty response, schedules, and financial reports.
  • Plan, schedule, estimate, and coordinate construction projects with hospital staff, contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Consult with registered architects and professional engineers to assure conformity with customer needs, project requirements, schedules, budgets, safety issues, building codes, The Joint Commission (TJC), and ADA standards.
  • Analyze special circumstances that arise on projects to solve complex construction concerns.
  • Consult and assist other construction managers to solve complex construction problems.
  • Maintain courteous and cooperative relations with staff, departments, vendors, and customers, providing clear communications to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure safety measures are followed for all construction, remodeling, or renovation projects throughout the healthcare facility.
  • Coordinate with the management team to provide reports on cost, status, and schedule.
Project Control
  • Manage scope creep through change orders, phased delivery, or other methods to ensure projects deliver on time, scope, budget, and strategy expectations.
  • Evaluate all key project deliverables and final products to ensure traceability of requirements, high quality, and acceptance.
  • Formally sign off on all project deliverables, coordinating stakeholder input as needed.
  • Ensure projects meet internal and customer expectations regarding quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategy.
  • Identify, track, manage, and mitigate risk, escalating issues when necessary to minimize impact on quality, budget, and timeline.
  • Create contingency plans with input from key team members and implement revised schedules, scope, or budgets as needed.
Project Communication
  • Work with facilities management leadership to communicate expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks, progress, and the brightworks development process.
  • Create ad‑hoc customized reporting for the customer or team to secure sign‑off on deliverables or documentation.
  • Use sound judgment in all project communication, ensuring stakeholders are apprised of project activities timely.
  • Communicate progress, risks, expectations, timelines, milestones, and other key project metrics to customers and team members.
  • Prepare to discuss project quality, client and team satisfaction, and project success metrics during regular and ad‑hoc project review meetings.
