Revenue Cycle Director

We are looking for an experienced Revenue Cycle Director Consultant to provide leadership and stability for a healthcare revenue cycle function in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role can be remote. This Long-term Contract position will guide managers across core billing operations, strengthen performance standards, and improve visibility into key financial outcomes. The role is well suited for a hands-on consultant who can balance operational oversight with process enhancement in a fast-moving healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
• Direct and support three revenue cycle managers responsible for billing activity, claim submission, pre-bill workflows, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and denial resolution.
• Provide steady operational leadership during a leadership gap while maintaining service levels and prioritizing critical revenue cycle work.
• Oversee issue escalation across the revenue cycle function and make timely decisions to keep work streams moving efficiently.
• Evaluate current team capabilities, identify performance gaps, and implement clear operating expectations and measurable standards.
• Partner with leadership to improve reporting, benchmarking, and insight into revenue cycle performance indicators.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen workflows, increase efficiency, and encourage effective use of technology across the department.
• Support the implementation of a new billing platform, including operational readiness, workflow alignment, and adoption across affected teams.
• Mentor managers to build confidence, accountability, and independence in leading daily operations.
• Recommend and execute process improvements that enhance billing accuracy, reduce denials, and improve overall collections performance.
