Overview

dormakaba is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – MET Cores III based in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for enhancing production efficiency, quality, and safety by designing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes and equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer – MET Cores III drives continuous improvement and innovation to support business goals and operational excellence.

Hiring Salary Range:
Base Salary $100,000 - $130,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.

What You Will Do
  • Develop, configure, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality
  • Design, implement, and maintain manufacturing equipment, automation solutions, and tooling to improve production performance and reliability
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor, identifying and resolving process and equipment issues to minimize downtime and optimize workflow
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using lean principles, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to drive operational excellence
  • Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards while conducting risk assessments and implementing preventive measures
What We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably in a high-volume production environment
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes, workflows, and equipment
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen), and automation solutions
  • Proven experience in standardized work documentation, ERP systems (e.g., SAP), CAD software, new product introduction (NPI), regulatory compliance, and Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies will be heavily weighted

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline
  • AESF (American Electroplating / Surface Finishing) or CEF (Certified Electroplater Finisher) certified.
