Overview
Based in Indianapolis, IN, the actual title of the position will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Lead person to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed. Bodycote is the world largest provider of thermal processing services and employs thousands of skilled staff globally.
Note:
This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of our business and heavy industrial market.
- Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Bring any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Responsible for the care and treatment of customers inventory, performing duties safely to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with coworkers, and adhere to rules and procedures.

- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
- Overtime or weekend work may be required.
- Must obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Standing for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach; lift up to 35 lbs.
- Exposure to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively; visual acuity for documents and screens; auditory ability for in-person and phone communication.
- Operate, control, and monitor heat treating equipment as required and as written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Prepare work for processing; load/unload furnaces, bins, fixtures, etc.
- Identify and report any irregularities to the supervisor.
- Support safety and housekeeping practices.
- Perform duties to protect customer inventory and maintain quality.

- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Shift: 7:00 am 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
- 1,500 Sign-on Retention Bonus.
