Position: PLANT MANAGER (Automotive  Manufacturing)

Plant Manager

Global Automotive company manufactures automotive, trucks and specialty vehicle parts for automotive body and chassis. Located in Central Indiana, this is a newly created role in newly expanded operation. The company has been in business since 1987, offers a professional work environment, great benefits, professional growth, career opportunity in a state of the art facility.

Job Functions
  • Plant Manager – provide operations leadership, manage People, Manufacturing Operations, Quality & Maintenance in a non-union automotive facility. Focus on improving operations throughput.
  • Work with all functional areas within the facility to assure that production, safety, quality, maintenance, engineering, purchasing, production control and every other aspect of the business are meeting and exceeding goals and expectations.
  • Work with customers on resolving operational and quality problems.
  • Establish performance metrics for the facility and people.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement budgets and oversee various projects across the entire operation.
Candidate Requirements
  • 10–20 years experience as Operations Manager or Plant Manager – strong preference for background in automotive Tier 1 or truck manufacturing operations.
  • Must have managed teams in manufacturing operations – which include operations, quality, maintenance etc. Strong ability to relate to manufacturing engineering teams as new, highly automated equipment comes into the plant.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems – knowledge of quality and launch processes such as APQP, 8D, etc., and knowledge of TPS – Toyota Production Systems is a plus.
  • Solid communicator and problem solver along with leadership skills.
  • Experience in management in a non-union environment is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but is not required.
