Shift: 1st - 6/am - 230pm M-F

Description:

A folder operator sets up, runs, and troubleshoots folding machines to score, slit, and fold paper products like brochures, catalogs, and mailers according to job specifications. Key duties include monitoring production for quality, making machine adjustments, loading paper, performing maintenance, and packaging finished goods. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and physical stamina for tasks like standing and lifting in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation:
Efficiently operate folding machines to score, slit, and fold printed sheets and other materials.
Setup & Adjustments:
Set up equipment, including rollers, perforators, and cutters, and make adjustments during production runs to meet job specifications.
Quality Control:
Monitor the folding process to ensure products meet client and quality standards, identifying and removing any non-standard work.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to prevent downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Material Handling:
Load paper into the folder and properly stack or package finished products for shipping or the next production stage.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate production and time-keeping records.

Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness of the equipment and the work area.

Required Skills & Qualities
Mechanical Aptitude: A natural ability to understand and work with machinery.
Attention to Detail:
Crucial for ensuring products meet precise specifications.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machine errors or other production issues.
Basic Math

Skills:

Needed for making calculations and reading measurements.
Physical Stamina:
Capable of standing, walking, and performing repetitive lifting and bending for extended periods.
Adherence to Safety:
Ability to follow safety procedures and comply with OSHA requirements.
