Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma setting requiring 3 years of OR RN experience and current BLS certification.

Job Details

• Work in a Level I trauma Operating Room within a short-term acute care hospital,

• Handles a wide range of cases including general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics,

• Average daily census is 70-80 with 21 operating rooms,

• Day shifts are 3x12 hours, 7:00 to 19:30, with required weekend coverage every Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday,

• Six call shifts required within each six week period,

• Floating required within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed,

• Uses Cerner EMR, prior Cerner experience required,

Job Requirements

• Active IN or compact state RN license in hand at time of consideration,

• Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI required,

• Minimum 3 years of recent operating room RN experience, including at least one year in a Level I trauma setting,

• Experience with circulating required; scrub experience preferred,

• Degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program,

• Returned employees must have been away from the facility for at least 12 months before reapplying as a traveler,

• RNs are expected to be well-rounded in most OR specialties except CV and transplant,

• Must work two out of three major holidays during the assignment,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• RTO requests of five days or less are auto-approved,
