Design Engineer – Gas Programs

In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, gaining hands‑on experience and technical mentorship in underground utility and roadway design. You’ll help ensure our designs meet project requirements while managing scope, schedule, and quality expectations.

We’re currently seeking a Design Engineer to join our Gas Programs team. This is a hybrid role based in Cedar Rapids, IA or the Chicago metro area
, with a mix of in‑office work and remote flexibility, along with regular site visits as part of project execution.

This position pays between $70,000 and $75,000 annually and is an exempt position. Benefits offered include company‑sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match.   HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full‑time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver's license without restrictions for occasional project and client visits.

• DOT, municipal, roadway, transportation, and/or utility experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Micro Station, or ArcGIS software is a plus.
