Key Responsibilities- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs in the field.
- Maintain and repair heavy construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and related machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and equipment‑related issues.
- Identify potential equipment problems before they result in significant downtime.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on company equipment.
- Help keep equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Communicate with equipment operators, project managers, and supervisors regarding equipment issues and repair needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, parts, and service performed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements.
- High school diploma or GED
- Mechanical experience with heavy equipment
- Strong communication
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field
- Ability to perform in stressful situations
- Ability to Lift 75#
- Class A CDL, or willingness to obtain
- 5+ years of mechanic experience
- Experience with Komatsu, CAT, CASE, Peterbilt, and Kenworth or similar equipment
