Location: South Tangerang

We are seeking a dedicated and reflective Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs within an inclusive Montessori environment. This role is central to ensuring that students requiring additional support are able to access the curriculum meaningfully and participate safely and successfully in the classroom.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for assisting and managing students with special educational needs and supporting the implementation of the school’s inclusion program. The role involves close collaboration with Montessori teachers and the School Psychologist to design, implement, and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILP) tailored to each student’s developmental profile.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with identified or emerging special needs.
  • Implement and monitor Individual Learning Plans in collaboration with the Montessori teacher and School Psychologist.
  • Adapt learning materials and classroom expectations to meet individual student needs while maintaining alignment with Montessori principles.
  • Support classroom regulation by applying appropriate behavior and sensory strategies.
  • Conduct classroom observations and document student progress systematically.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings to review student development and adjust intervention strategies.
  • Communicate professionally with parents regarding student progress, goals, and support strategies when required.
  • Contribute to the development and strengthening of the school’s inclusion framework.
  • Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related education field. Experience in a Montessori setting or willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and classroom structure is preferred.
  • Have a minimum 1 year of teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inclusive education practices and developmental needs.
  • Experience working with children with diverse learning profiles, including behavioral and regulatory challenges.
  • Experience developing or implementing Individual Learning Plans is preferred.
  • Trained in behavior support strategies, sensory integration approaches, or classroom-based intervention models.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Calm, structured, and consistent approach in managing student behavior.
  • English Fluency both in speaking and writing.
  • Can join as soon as possible.
