Job Description

The Librarian is responsible for the effective day‑to‑day management of the school library as a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment. The Librarian ensures that all library systems, resources, and spaces are maintained to a high standard, supporting students’ reading development, access to materials, and the smooth operation of the school’s academic programs. The Librarian plays a key role in developing the library as an active learning space that promotes reading, independence, and responsible use of resources.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging library environment, including displays and student use.
• Manage circulation, cataloguing, shelving, inventory, and overall library systems.
• Develop and maintain relevant library resources aligned with curriculum and student needs.
• Support students and teachers with resource selection, access, and library usage.
• Plan and support reading programs, literacy events, and student engagement activities.
• Maintain records, track usage data, and support reporting and accreditation requirements.

• Bachelor's Degree in Library Sciences, Education, Linguistics/Languages, Business Studies/Administration, or equivalent.
• Experience working in educational institutions or comparable organizations.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a library or related field.
• Experience supporting school-based resource management and library operations.
• Familiarity with Cambridge and/or IB programmes is an advantage.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs competently.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑cultural environment.
