Building Services Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
The MEP Engineer will coordinate and oversee mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems from design review through installation, testing and handover. The role requires strong multidisciplinary coordination, site awareness and the ability to translate design requirements into practical, compliant and maintainable building-services installations.
Key responsibilitiesReview and coordinate MEP designs, drawings, specifications and equipment schedules across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and related systems.
Coordinate MEP interfaces with architecture, structure, civil, landscape and interior design to identify and resolve clashes before installation.
Review contractor shop drawings, material/equipment submissions, method statements and technical proposals for compliance with project requirements.
Monitor MEP installation works on site, checking workmanship, routing, access, coordination, safety and compliance with approved information.
Respond to RFIs and technical queries and work with consultants and contractors to close issues promptly.
Track procurement and delivery of long-lead MEP equipment and identify potential programme impacts early.
Coordinate testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
Verify installation against approved drawings, manufacturer requirements and applicable Indonesian codes and standards.
Support value engineering and technical optimisation without compromising safety, performance, maintainability or guest/user experience.
Maintain clear MEP records including inspection requests, test reports, commissioning records, as-built drawings and O&M documentation.
About youBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related building-services discipline or extensive practical site experience in the role above.
Minimum 5 years of relevant MEP engineering experience, including active construction-site exposure.
Good working knowledge across multiple MEP disciplines and strong understanding of system interfaces.
Experience reviewing MEP drawings, shop drawings, equipment data, technical submittals and commissioning documentation.
Understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, drainage, fire protection and low-current systems.
Ability to coordinate plant-room layouts, ceiling/service zones, risers and other congested interfaces.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and common MEP/BIM coordination workflows;
Revit/Navisworks experience is advantageous.
Strong troubleshooting, communication and contractor-management skills.
