Local Site Support Engineer (LSS)

Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Local Site Support Engineer to provide onsite IT support for end users, office IT infrastructure, asset management, and project-based activities. The successful candidate will ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations, maintain IT assets, support office infrastructure, and collaborate with internal technical teams and third-party vendors to deliver high-quality IT services.

Key Responsibilities
1. End User Onsite IT Support
Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals running Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Diagnose and resolve day-to-day hardware and software issues.
Provision and deprovision corporate IT devices.
Replace faulty devices with temporary replacement equipment following company procedures.
Guide end users on standard IT issues and best practices.
Coordinate with Level 2 support teams for issue escalation and resolution.
2. Office IT Infrastructure Support
Perform basic troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of office IT infrastructure.
Install, configure, test, and remove network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and related devices.
Troubleshoot LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues.
Support office technology solutions including printing services, digital signage, smart office devices, sensors, and voice systems.
Assist with printer installation, testing, and maintenance.
Support audio-visual equipment setup, testing, and basic troubleshooting.
Deploy and configure workplace monitors and related hardware.
Assist remote infrastructure teams during maintenance activities and technical escalations.
Coordinate with vendors for equipment repairs and replacements.
Escort authorized third-party vendors within secure IT facilities when required.
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions.
Support internal and external IT audits and compliance activities.
3. IT Asset Management
Receive, inspect, register, and label IT equipment in the asset management system.
Test newly received hardware and store equipment securely.
Image devices with approved operating system builds.
Maintain accurate inventory records.
Conduct regular hardware inventory audits.
Prepare devices for redeployment by cleaning, testing, and verifying functionality.
Perform secure data wiping and coordinate disposal according to organizational policies.
Manage temporary laptop allocation and returns.
Coordinate warranty repairs and vendor services.
Support tape management activities where applicable.
Assist during compliance, audit, and asset verification exercises.
4. Project-Based Site Support
Support office relocations, workstation moves, and hardware refresh projects.
Assist with IT setup for business meetings, demonstrations, events, and office initiatives.
Provide onsite technical support during planned IT projects and deployments.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
Experience supporting desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Basic networking knowledge (LAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, firewalls, access points).
Understanding of IT asset management and inventory processes.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and common enterprise collaboration tools.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote technical teams.
Experience working with IT ticketing systems and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent are an advantage.
Experience supporting enterprise IT environments and office infrastructure.
Familiarity with ITIL processes is preferred.
