Job Description:

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities:

Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.

Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items to ensure they get the products they want and need.

Check product quality to ensure freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.

Provide customers with ordered grocery products, both fresh and non-perishable.

Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.

Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.

Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs.

Gain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions with suggestions.

Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel important and appreciated.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.

Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.

Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
