Job Discription: The Psychiatrist is a primary provider of behavioral health care services at WWFHC performing a full range of psychiatrist assignments in a full-functioning capacity. The Psychiatrist works with the behavioral health and primary care providers under established protocols and the approved clinical policies of WWFHC to provide quality integrated comprehensive health care to patients.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION AND DUTIES- Customer Relations:
- Treats guests, patients, physicians, and other employees with care, courtesy, and respect.
- Responds quickly and appropriately to customer request.
- Looks for and suggests ways to better meet customer needs.
- Answers clinic communications systems promptly and with courtesy and respect.
- Teamwork:
- Works cooperatively within own department and other areas.
- Willingly accepts additional responsibility – tries to make others job easier.
- Responds quickly to request for assistance.
- Required to work closely with patients and associates.
- Interacts with other departments on problem issues.
- Accepts feedback from patients, visitors, clinic employees, physicians and general public.
- Communications:
- Keeps appropriate people informed.
- Speaks and writes clearly, concisely, and appropriately for need.
- Listens carefully.
- Communicates tactfully.
- Understands that all confidentiality and privacy considerations are respected and fostered at work and off duty.
- Self – Management:
- Present a positive image of Western Wayne Family Health Center at all times.
- Carry out assignments with little need for direction.
- Timeliness.
- Provide proper notification of absence and tardiness.
- Works weekends and shifts when necessary.
- Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine
- Board Eligible/Certified in a primary care specialtyfrom an accredited school of medicine
- Completion of three years of successful training in a psychiatric residency-training program which yields a certificate of completion.
- Possession of a unrestricted license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Michigan.
- Possession of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology “general requirements” for certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Must be currently holding, or eligible for, admitting privileges and member in good standing at community and/or tertiary hospitals.
