Nova Scotia Therapeutic Recreation Assistant

Become a key contributor at the Central Zone, Nova Scotia Hospital as a Therapeutic Assistant in the Mental Health and Addictions department. This full-time position focuses on providing therapeutic support and health services.

In this role, you will work alongside the Registered Nurse and Recreation Therapist to deliver effective health and therapeutic interventions. Your collaboration with the interdisciplinary team will optimize patient care, leveraging your strong leadership and interpersonal abilities. A thorough understanding of community resources is vital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing therapeutic health services

• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team

• Relay crucial patient information

• Engage in health promotion activities

• Support personalized patient care initiatives

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 and first year in Therapeutic Recreation

• Current CPR certification required

• Preferred:
St. John Ambulance First Aid course

• Preferred:
Non Violent Crisis Intervention training

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
