Established in 1984 to manage the settlement outlined in the Inuvialuit Final Agreement (IFA), Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) represents the collective interests of Inuvialuit. IRC’s goal is to continually improve the economic, social and cultural wellbeing of the Inuvialuit through implementation of the IFA and by all other available means. Through strong partnerships and community-driven programs, the organization supports economic growth, cultural preservation and opportunities for current and future generations.

Inuvialuit beneficiaries directly control IRC and its subsidiaries through a democratic process of elected directors from each of the six community corporations with chairs at the IRC Board, a process originally outlined in the IFA.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Health Programs the Health & Wellness Research Coordinator is primarily responsible for the coordination and oversight of research programs involving the Health and Wellness Division, in partnership with Indigenous Services Canada and other internal and external partners. This position is dedicated to the success of Qanuippitaa? National Inuit Health Survey (QNIHS) and all other research projects that emerge.

• A minimum of one (1) year of work experience in a research-related field would be an asset.
• A minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a health-related or community front-line work.
• Experience developing and monitoring logistics.
• Experience working in high demand environment.
• Demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality.
• Awareness of social detriments within Inuit communities.
• Knowledge of local Indigenous language and culture would be considered an asset.
