As a critical member of the THARP team, the Men's Wellness & Safety Attendant is responsible for providing continuous supervision and support to residents. This includes conducting wellness checks, assisting with daily routines, and utilizing de-escalation techniques in emergencies. The position is integral to fostering a culturally sensitive and supportive space for Indigenous men in recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain a trauma-informed and safe environment
• Conduct regular facility safety rounds and checks
• Supervise daily activities and assist residents with needs
• Document incidents and observations diligently
• Apply non-violent crisis intervention techniques as required
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two years of experience in a community wellness setting
• Certification in First Aid/CPR and crisis intervention
• Knowledge of Inuvialuit culture preferred
• Ability to work rotational shifts in a 24/7 operation
