Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair in support of production equipment and the facility. In this role, the technician will work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls. Logical-thinking and troubleshooting skills are critical. This position is important to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
General working hours are Monday through Thursday, 2:00pm - 10:00pm, with additional overtime available on Fridays as needed.
Maintenance Responsibilities- Safety:
Always ensure the complete physical safety of oneself and co-workers without exception - Assist the production team with efficient day starts and equipment performance through the day
- Inspect machinery: knowledge of machine equipment for proper performance and to detect faults and malfunctions; diagnose malfunctions using testing equipment to determine the required repair
- Perform machine repair and maintenance, possibly including corrections and alterations, to ensure it remains productive
- Assist with or perform the troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems
- Perform general facility maintenance tasks as required
- Determine material, equipment, and supplies needed for daily maintenance functions and ensure work orders are completed accurately, timely, and cost effectively
- Ensure plant preventative maintenance programs are supported and maintained
- Assist in maintaining chemical and repair parts inventory
- Education/Training:
High School education or equivalent preferred; additional mechanic training or trade school degree preferred - New graduates from tech programs encouraged to apply
- Minimum 1-year job-related experience
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Solid problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a team environment on a variety of complex projects
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and react appropriately
- Proficiency with a wide range of tools and applications

- Manufacturing – Work is performed in a manufacturing plant. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell
- The Team Member will frequently have to walk and stand
- The Team Member should have the ability to regularly lift up to 55lbs, and be able to push and pull up to 75lbs
- Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations above 4 feet

- Team Members are occasionally exposed to wet conditions and cold temperatures; exposure to moving mechanical parts is common
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – included when required for the job, such as protective eyewear or face shields, hearing protection, hair and beard nets, uniforms and footwear; additional equipment may be required when working with chemicals (gloves, chemical-proof aprons, etc.)
- Compensation range: $35-$40/hour, DOE
