We are looking for a support worker to work in a team which delivers support to adults with learning disabilities, communication difficulties, personal care and complex needs. Candidates should be able to work as part of a team or under their own initiative. Candidates require excellent communication skills and confidence in their ability. Candidates must be willing and able to undertake training to SVQ Level 3, alongside all other training required for service delivery.
The Isobel Rhind Centre is open Monday – Friday, 8.45 am – 4.15pm, although successful candidates may be required to be available for flexible shift patterns which include minimal working outwith these core hours. Although the role is primarily based in the Isobel Rhind Centre, you may also be required to lone work in community based settings or as part of a small team.

This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Responsibilities- Deliver support to adults with learning disabilities, communication difficulties, personal care and complex needs as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Adhere to service delivery requirements and undertake training to SVQ Level 3, alongside other required trainings.
- Be flexible to work shifts within core hours and occasional flexible patterns as required.
- Work primarily at the Isobel Rhind Centre with potential lone or small team community-based duties.
- Maintain safeguarding and PVG Scheme requirements as part of employment.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in ability to work as part of a team or independently.
- Willingness and ability to undertake SVQ Level 3 training and other required trainings for service delivery.
- Eligibility to register with the PVG Scheme.
- Strong commitment to providing compassionate care and support to adults with learning disabilities and related needs.
- Effective from 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure pay remains unaffected.
