Proposals Engineer

Excellent Package Proposals Engineer Our client, a long-established precision engineering SME business based in Fife is seeking a Proposals Engineer responsible for the development, execution, tracking and communication of quoting activities for new and existing customers. The Proposals Engineer will lead the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final submission, ensuring estimates are robust, compliant and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities encompass:
Producing quotations:
Interpreting drawings, specifications & technical documents:
Preparing detailed cost breakdowns covering labour, materials, equipment etc;
Conducting risk & opportunity assessments;
Engaging with suppliers & subcontractors, obtaining competitive quotes & evaluating proposals;
Collaborate with managers, engineers and commercial teams;
Present estimates & commercial recommendations to leadership;
Supporting value engineering initiatives. We are seeking a Proposals Engineer with experience within an engineering, manufacturing, machining or precision repair environment. You will ideally have a strong understanding of engineering methods and materials, and be experienced in the use of Excel, cost modelling and data analysis You should have a proven ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and have relevant qualifications in an engineering field.

Consideration will also be given to senior machinists seeking a career change.
