Position Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house subacute rehab team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will assist in implementing therapeutic programs designed to improve patients’ independence in daily living activities and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct occupational therapy services to patients as outlined in treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Assist in evaluating patient progress and communicate findings to the OT and rehab team
- Instruct and supervise patients in therapeutic activities, including ADLs, mobility, and fine motor tasks
- Document daily treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Maintain equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and supportive therapy environment
- Adhere to facility policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional standards of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a COTA in the state of Florida
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or subacute rehab setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
