Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Automotive Service Advisor role based in Inverness. The Automotive Service Advisor will be the primary point of contact for customers, greeting them on arrival, listening to their concerns, and accurately documenting vehicle issues and service requests. The role involves preparing cost estimates, explaining recommended maintenance and repairs, obtaining customer approvals, and scheduling service appointments. The Service Advisor will coordinate with technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently, keep customers updated on progress, and review final invoices with customers.
Daily responsibilities also include managing service records, handling phone and email enquiries, processing payments, and supporting a high standard of customer satisfaction and workshop organization.
- Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and a focus on Customer Satisfaction.
- Understanding of Vehicle Maintenance and basic Automotive Repair concepts to clearly explain work to customers.
- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with customers, technicians, and suppliers.
- Previous experience in an automotive service advisor, receptionist, or related role in a workshop or dealership environment is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage a busy service schedule, and maintain attention to detail under time pressure.
- Comfort using computer-based service systems, invoicing tools, and basic office software.
- Relevant vocational training or certifications in automotive service or customer service are an advantage.
