Role Overview

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in managing the financial aspects of our projects, from pre-contract planning to post-contract completion. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands‑on experience in cost control, risk management, tendering, and contractual administration.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to projects that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities and cost forecasts.
  • Support the team in cost analysis, reporting, and value management.
  • Help establish client requirements and prepare budget cost studies.
  • Contribute to risk analysis and the development of commercial strategies.
  • Assist in preparing interim valuations, final accounts, and payment arrangements.
  • Liaise with contract staff, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Use software such as Easy Earthworks, Excel, Word, Project, Constructa, and Entropy.
Essential Requirements
  • A keen interest in construction, civil engineering, and quantity surveying.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Awareness of health, safety, and environmental responsibilities.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
