We are recruiting for a permanent Site / Setting Out Engineer to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering infrastructure and groundworks scheme in Inverness, Highlands.

This is a hands‑on site-based role, well suited to an engineer with strong GPS setting out experience and a background in earthworks, earthmoving and reinforced concrete / foundations. You'll be working closely with site management and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to programme.

• Setting out using GPS and traditional surveying equipment
• Supporting delivery of bulk earthworks, cut & fill and earthmoving operations
• Setting out and QA for foundations, RC structures and associated civils works
• Checking line, level and alignment of works on site
• Interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and surveys
• Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors
• Ensuring works are carried out in line with health & safety standards

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer
• Strong GPS setting out capability (Trimble / Leica or similar)
• Proven background in earthworks, earthmoving and foundations / RC works
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Good understanding of site QA procedures
• CSCS card (minimum)
• Full UK driving licence

• £30,000 - £40,000 salary, dependent on experience
