TEXO Recruitment are sourcing a detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of construction projects from pre-contract through to final account.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical and commercial skills within a supportive project team.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering an immediate start in Inverness working on behalf of our external construction client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with cost planning, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and subcontract packages
  • Assist in procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and comparisons
  • Measure works on site and from drawings for valuation and variation purposes
  • Help prepare interim valuations, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts
  • Assist with assessment and agreement of variations and change control
  • Support final account preparation and agreement
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and consultants to gather commercial information
  • Maintain accurate records, cost data, and project documentation
  • Ensure commercial processes comply with company procedures and contract requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • 0–3 years’ experience in a construction or commercial role (graduate or trainee experience welcomed)
  • Basic understanding of construction contracts (e.g. JCT, NEC)
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office
