Site Agent – Inverness

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Site Agent to join our team on the SSEN Framework, supporting delivery of the £120m Loch na Cathrach Energy Connection. This role will initially focus on the ECI stage for SSEN's substation upgrade exports and underground cable installation in the north of Scotland.

Role Responsibilities
  • Report to the Project Manager for key work areas.
  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of the construction site to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Maintain high standards of quality across all construction activities.
  • Monitor and manage environmental impact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Control project costs and ensure budget adherence.
  • Collaborate effectively with a high‑performing and supportive team.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (preferred).
  • Ambition and drive in tackling complex engineering challenges.
  • Previous experience at Agent or Sub‑Agent level on similar infrastructure or civil engineering schemes.
  • Background in managing construction projects from planning through to delivery.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Commercial awareness and cost‑control proficiency.
  • Effective team coordination and planning skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health & safety compliance and quality assurance processes.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground, including excavation, cable laying and jointing (fluid‑filled and XLPE), substations, and overhead lines.
