Consultant Gastroenterologist – NHS Highland, Raigmore Hospital (Inverness)

Salary: £111,430 – £148,064 per annum pro rata (part‑time, 10 PAs/40 hrs/week)

Location: Raigmore Hospital, Inverness – part of NHS Highland and the North of Scotland Cancer Network.

Overview: We are inviting applications for a consultant gastroenterologist to join our service. The role involves general and subspecialty gastroenterology services to a population of ~250,000 across a large, rural area with a focus on luminal interest to complement our existing team. The post is based in Inverness, using NHS Near Me/Attend Anywhere, Teams MDT discussion and face‑to‑face care in rural hospitals.

• Inpatient care for gastroenterology and hepatology cases.
• Outpatient clinics and endoscopy including EUS, ERCP, SMOTS systems.
• Participation in MDTs and the GI bleed rota.
• Training and supervision of specialist registrars, resident doctors, specialist nurses and medical students.
• Involvement in NHS Highland clinical research and quality improvement initiatives.

Acute medical take is not expected but may be available for those who wish to do so.
