Consultant in Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon

Salary £111,430 - £148,064 per annum pro rata

Hours 10 pas / 40 hours per week

Location Raigmore Hospital, Inverness

Position Third Breast Surgeon in the Highland Breast Centre, Inverness. The Centre hosts the North of Scotland Breast Screening Service, with 14,000 women screened last year, and provides symptomatic services for NHS Highland, NHS Western Isles. Around 300 new breast cancer diagnoses are managed annually.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a surgical service for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer patients.
  • Perform oncoplastic breast surgery (experience strongly desirable).
  • Collaborate with the University of Aberdeen to accommodate teaching or research interests.
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team, including advanced practitioners, breast care nurses, and specialist plastic surgical services.
  • Maintain a high quality, patient‑focused service within a remote and rural setting.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Consultant status in breast surgery.
  • Experience in oncoplastic breast surgery preferred.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
