Position: Lecturer – Centre for Rural Health Sciences

Centre for Rural Health Science

We are seeking to recruit a committed and enthusiastic healthcare professional who would value the opportunity to contribute to the education of the next generation of nurses and health and social care professionals, including postgraduate and advanced clinical assessment provision.

This is an excellent opportunity for advanced practitioners, specialist nurses, allied health professionals and clinicians with an interest in education who wish to develop or extend an academic career within a supportive rural health sciences environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education within the Centre for Rural Health Sciences, including advanced clinical assessment and related postgraduate provision, alongside undergraduate teaching.

You will join a team committed to enhancing education for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals across the Highlands and Islands and beyond.

Role responsibilities
  • Teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Contribution to advanced clinical assessment and postgraduate provision
  • Supporting and assessing students in academic and practice settings
  • Contributing to curriculum development and innovation
  • Working collaboratively with clinical partners to ensure programmes remain current and workforce-focused

Applicants must be registered with the NMC or HCPC and have current or recent clinical experience. An interest or experience in advanced clinical practice, clinical assessment, community, rural or remote practice would be particularly valuable.

Experience of teaching pre- or post-registration learners is desirable but not essential. A recognised teaching qualification is also desirable; however, the University will support the successful candidate to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching if required.

  • Up to £48,906 per annum for exceptional candidates
